2 Dead in ICE Office Shooting; 41 Arrested in Dallas Human Trafficking Bust
Two men have lost their lives in a tragic shooting incident at the ICE ERO Dallas office on Sept. 24. The victims have been identified as Norlan Guzman-Fuentes and Miguel Angel Garcia-Hernandez. Meanwhile, a joint operation involving multiple law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of 41 illegal foreign nationals, including 29 suspected of working illegally at a Dallas strip club.
The shooting incident claimed the lives of Guzman-Fuentes and Garcia-Hernandez. Both men succumbed to their injuries. Garcia-Hernandez had a criminal history that included failure to identify, evading arrest, and driving while intoxicated. Guzman-Fuentes had a record of battery, driving while intoxicated, and aggravated assault.
The arrests were part of a larger investigation into human trafficking and illegal employment led by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations Dallas. The operation involved multiple agencies, including the FBI, the Department of Labor, Texas Department of Public Safety, Dallas Police Department, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). During the investigation, ICE agents seized $30,000 in U.S. currency and various business records. At least five of the arrested individuals had multiple criminal convictions, including DUI, assault, and aggravated assault.
The arrests and the tragic shooting incident highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking and illegal employment. ICE has extended its condolences to the family members of the victims. The investigation into the shooting incident continues.
