In a move to cater to the needs of modern professionals, dynamic students, creative educators, and avid mobile gamers, Acer Africa has launched two new ultra-portable USB-C monitors in South Africa: the Acer PM161Q J and the Acer PM161QT.

These monitors, engineered for hybrid/remote workers, digital nomads, students, educators, and casual gamers, offer a perfect blend of portability, performance, and versatility. They are designed to provide an indispensable tool for anyone who needs to extend their workspace, deliver presentations, or enjoy multimedia wherever they are.

The non-touch version of Acer's new portable monitor, Acer PM161Q J, is available for R2,499. It features a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with vibrant 6-bit colors and a wide 178° viewing angle, weighing just 700g. The touch-enabled version, Acer PM161QT, is priced at R3,499 and offers a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with 16.7M colors and responsive 10-point touch functionality.

Both monitors offer exceptional versatility for productivity, education, mobile entertainment, and gaming. They support AdaptiveSync (FreeSync/G-SYNC compatible) for smooth visuals, and the touch-enabled Acer PM161QT includes HDR10 support for enhanced contrast and color.

The new portable monitors from Acer provide a seamless "second screen" solution for hybrid/remote workers, digital nomads, students, educators, and casual gamers. They offer plug-and-play simplicity via a single USB-C cable, making setup quick and hassle-free for laptops, tablets, and even smartphones.

The ultra-slim, lightweight designs of the Acer PM161Q J and Acer PM161QT make them easy to travel with and set up quickly in various locations, including coffee shops, airports, and flexible home office setups. Furthermore, both models use IPS technology for accurate, vivid colors and wide viewing angles, crucial for collaborative work, presentations, and multimedia consumption.

Both monitors run at 60Hz, with Adaptive-Sync/FreeSync support for variable refresh rates depending on the connected device. The response time for the 15.6" model is specified at 6ms, suitable for casual gaming and general use.

In addition to USB-C, the Acer PM161W includes a mini HDMI port and audio out, while the Acer PM161QBbmiuux offers two USB-C ports and a mini HDMI for versatile connectivity. Both monitors are powered directly via USB-C, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter in most cases.
