Advantech Co Reports Strong Q3 Revenue Growth in North America and China
Advantech Co has reported robust revenue growth in the third quarter, driven by strong demand from North America and China. The company's performance exceeded expectations, with both regions contributing significantly to its overall revenue.
North America emerged as Advantech's largest market in the first half, accounting for 30% of its revenue. This trend continued into the third quarter, with revenue from the region growing by a double-digit percentage, propelled by robust sales of medical and audio-video equipment. The company anticipates this growth momentum to persist into the fourth quarter, bolstered by several Taiwanese manufacturers' plans to establish factories in the US, which is expected to further boost Advantech's automation sales.
China, which contributed 21% of Advantech's revenue in the first half, also demonstrated strong growth in the third quarter, with a high single-digit percentage increase. This was primarily due to increased shipments of automated inspection equipment. Meanwhile, the company's foreign-exchange losses were mitigated due to a milder impact from the New Taiwan dollar's appreciation against the US dollar.
In a strategic move, Advantech announced a collaboration with Edge Impulse Inc in the third quarter. This partnership aims to integrate AI development tools into Advantech's edge computing platforms, potentially boosting sales of AI industrial motherboards, inference systems, servers, industrial cameras, and development kits as early as next year.
Advantech Co's strong performance in the third quarter, driven by North America and China, positions the company well for continued growth. The strategic collaboration with Edge Impulse Inc is expected to further enhance Advantech's offerings in the AI and edge computing spaces, potentially driving additional revenue in the coming year.
