An Amazon representative confirmed the increase to an ad buyer, stating, "Prime Video ad load has gradually increased to four to six minutes per hour."

It's not just Amazon that's jumping on the ad-filled bandwagon. It seems like every streaming platform is following suit. For example, HBO Max, which has undergone a series of name changes over the years, first launched ads last year and recently clamped down on password sharing, making the ad experience even more inconvenient for consumers.
