In a significant move for the maritime industry, EverWind Terminals Canada has announced a CAD 50 million investment in state-of-the-art lower emission tugboats for the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia.

The advice for the project was provided by the Vancouver office, with support from Amsterdam. The team, led by Nathaniel Misri and Michael Posnikoff, covered all aspects of the project, including supporting infrastructure, financing, and shipbuilding agreements. The team also included Shelley Chapelski, Robert Hanson, Tristan Packwood-Greaves (Vancouver), Mei Land Man, and Yifrandy Sánchez Peralta (Amsterdam).

The new tugboats, designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, will replace the existing fleet in the Strait of Canso. These vessels, built by Damen Group, a Dutch defense, shipbuilding, and engineering company, will aid in the transportation of green hydrogen and ammonia for EverWind's Point Tupper project.

The purchase and financing of the vessels were assisted by the website team and supported by structured credit insurance provider Atradius, a Netherlands-based export credit agency. Damen Group was also involved in the construction of the new tugboats.

This investment is one of the largest private sector investments in the Strait of Canso in the last 50 years. The new tugboats will lower the environmental impact of marine operations in the Strait of Canso, contributing to a more sustainable maritime industry.

While further details about the roles of the individuals involved in this project are not available at this time, it is clear that this investment marks a significant step forward for EverWind Terminals Canada and the maritime industry as a whole.
