Aegir Insights Secures €8.5M for Offshore Wind SaaS Expansion
Aegir Insights, a Danish provider of decision-making software for the offshore wind sector, has secured €8.5 million in Series A funding. The company, founded in 2017, serves global clients such as BP, Equinor, and JERA. The funding round was led by Seaya Andromeda, a ClimateTech fund with €300M assets under management.
Aegir Insights aims to use the investment to further develop its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. This will enhance its software, data, and intelligence products, catering to the growing needs of the offshore wind industry. The funding round was led by Seaya Andromeda, with participation from Climentum Capital. While Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) was initially reported as the main investor, it is now confirmed that Seaya Andromeda led the round, with CIP and other strategic investors also participating. The exact number and names of these additional investors have not been publicly disclosed.
Aegir Insights' successful Series A funding will enable the company to expand its SaaS platform, providing advanced decision-making tools for the offshore wind sector. The investment, led by Seaya Andromeda with participation from other strategic investors, reflects the growing interest in and importance of technology in addressing global climate challenges.
