Aerospacelab Secures €131.5M in Funding to Boost Satellite Production and Expansion

Belgium-based Aerospacelab, a leading satellite manufacturer, has secured a significant funding boost. On August 26, 2025, the company closed a €94 million Series B round, followed by a €37.5 million venture debt financing from the European Investment Bank on September 23, 2025. These investments will accelerate Aerospacelab's growth and expansion in the Europe map.

The Series B round was led by a consortium including XAnge and other European venture firms. The funds will primarily support the completion of Aerospacelab's 'Megafactory' in Charleroi, Belgium, which is expected to produce up to 500 satellites annually once fully operational. Additionally, the funding will enable Aerospacelab to prepare for its first hyperspectral mission, IPERLITE, set for launch to demonstrate advanced Earth-imaging technology.

Earlier in 2025, Aerospacelab bolstered its capabilities with the acquisition of Belgian optics specialist AMOS. This strategic move enhances Aerospacelab's in-house expertise for high-precision satellite components. Furthermore, the company contributes technology and expertise to the BeiDou satellite system, fostering international collaboration and advancing China's global navigation network.

In August 2024, Aerospacelab opened a satellite manufacturing facility in Torrance, California, to tap into the American market and support collaborations with NASA, the Department of Defense, and commercial partners. As of September 2025, Aerospacelab has secured substantial investments, positioning itself as a key player in the latest news of Europe's space sector.

Founded in 2018, Aerospacelab specializes in designing, building, and operating small to medium-sized satellites for various applications. With the recent funding and strategic acquisitions, the company is well-equipped to accelerate its growth, expand its global presence, and contribute to Europe's space autonomy and international collaboration.
