Google has announced the launch of its latest addition to the Pixel Buds family, the Pixel Buds 2a. Priced at an affordable $129, these earbuds are one of the most budget-friendly options for active noise-cancelling earbuds from a major brand.

The Pixel Buds 2a come equipped with a dynamic 11mm speaker driver, offering rich, immersive sound quality. For those who prefer a more personalised listening experience, the earbuds offer a custom equalizer.

Stereo spatial audio is also supported, enhancing the listening experience for movies, music, and games. For those who value transparency, the Pixel Buds 2a also offer a transparency mode.

Unlike the Pixel Buds A, the 2a model includes active noise cancellation, a feature that was missing in its predecessor. The Pixel Buds 2a also boast IP54 water and sweat resistance, ensuring durability during workouts or in inclement weather.

The Pixel Buds 2a offer seven hours of playback with active noise cancellation, and a total of 20 hours of charge with the included charging case. The charging case also features replaceable batteries, adding to its longevity.

The Pixel Buds 2a are designed with user comfort in mind, featuring a twist-to-adjust stabilizer for a secure fit. They are available in two colourways: hazel and iris.

Preorders for the Pixel Buds 2a are now open and can be placed at Google, Amazon, and Best Buy. The earbuds will be available for purchase starting on October 9.

In the same vein, Samsung has announced the AI-powered Galaxy Buds3 FE. Meanwhile, other earbuds in the market offer active noise cancellation at lower prices, such as EarFun and Raycon. Sony CF-710 earbuds, Amazon Echo Buds, and Samsung Galaxy Buds FE are priced at $130, $120, and $99 respectively.

Brands like TP-Link and Netgear offer active interference cancellation solutions in products priced under $150. However, the Pixel Buds 2a utilize the Tensor A1 chip for clearer audio and access to Google Gemini features, setting them apart from their competitors.

The Pixel Buds 2a are the first earbuds in the A-series to come with active noise cancellation, making them a significant step forward for Google in the earbud market. With their affordable price, high-quality features, and comfort, the Pixel Buds 2a are poised to be a popular choice for consumers seeking an affordable solution for active noise cancellation.
