Affordable Electric Vehicle Offering for Those Requiring an Electric Vehicle: VW ID. EVERY1

Volkswagen is set to revolutionize the electric vehicle market with the upcoming ID. EVERY1, a compact city car scheduled for release in 2027. This affordable electric model, priced around €20,000 (approximately $22,000 USD), is positioned as an entry-level electric vehicle targeting urban mobility.

Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, has declared that the ID. EVERY1 is the final piece in their journey to offering the widest model selection in the volume segment. Kai Grünitz, a member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Technical Development, has emphasized that future models will be Customer Defined Vehicles, with the customers' wishes, interests, and preferences at the forefront of vehicle development.

The ID. EVERY1, powered by a newly developed electric motor generating 70 kW (95 PS), slots between the discontinued up! (3,600 mm) and the current Polo (4,074 mm). This compact car measures 3,880 mm in length and offers seating for four, along with a luggage compartment with a volume of 305 liters.

Volkswagen plans to release nine new models by 2027, including the ID. 2all and the ID. EVERY1. The ID. 2, another vehicle in the €25,000 price range, is slated for production in 2026. The production version of the ID. EVERY1 is a significant milestone in Volkswagen's long-term electric vehicle strategy, which aims to expand its position as the world's leading volume manufacturer in terms of technology by 2030.

The ID. EVERY1 concept car is introducing a new era of electric vehicles for Volkswagen, featuring a powerful software architecture for continuous updates and new features throughout the vehicle's lifecycle. Although specific U.S. price details have not been announced yet, the indicated starting price near €20,000 gives a strong expectation for an affordable entry-level EV in the U.S. by 2027. However, it's important to note that the ID. EVERY1 has not yet been announced for the U.S. market.

Volkswagen's long-term electric vehicle strategy is part of the "Future Volkswagen" agreement, established in December 2024, which aims to offer every customer the right car with the right drive system, including affordable entry-level electric mobility. The company is shaping the future of sustainable mobility with these affordable electric options, ushering in a new era of accessible and environmentally-friendly transportation.
