Payroc Bolsters Global Payment Processing Capabilities with Acquisition of Agilisa Technologies

Payroc, a leading global payment processor, has announced the acquisition of Agilisa Technologies, an API-centric payment gateway based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This strategic move significantly strengthens Payroc's position in the payment processing industry and notably expands its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The acquisition unites Agilisa's powerful API with Payroc's robust processing network, offering a more comprehensive payment solution. This union simplifies and accelerates payment integrations worldwide, eliminating the need for multiple integrations and accelerating developer time to market.

Agilisa's innovative gateway platform will be merged with Payroc’s existing API infrastructure, enabling global merchants and partners to access multiple markets through a single integration. This reduces complexity and speeds up the process, providing a seamless and secure transaction experience.

The acquisition secures Payroc direct access to Agilisa’s strong market presence across the Caribbean and Latin America, including connections to hundreds of enterprise-level merchants and marquee regional brands. This boosts Payroc’s competitive stance in these markets and facilitates seamless multi-currency transactions across more than a dozen countries.

Jim Oberman, CEO of Payroc, expresses excitement about enhancing Payroc’s gateway proposition with Agilisa’s single, powerful API. Javier Sánchez, CEO of Agilisa Technologies, shares Oberman's enthusiasm, expressing eagerness to contribute to Payroc's vision and unlock broader processing capabilities and global reach.

This is the third M&A transaction announced by Payroc in the past 30 days, indicating a focused strategy to become a leading global payment processor. Agilisa employees will integrate into Payroc’s global organization, accelerating feature development for settlement, reporting, tokenization services, and point-of-sale integrations.

In summary, the deal accelerates Payroc’s strategy to become a leading global payment processor by enhancing its technology stack and scaling its footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean, regions of strategic importance for cross-border commerce growth. The merger allows new and existing partners global coverage via one single connection, ushering in a new era of borderless commerce.
