Alstom Wins €300M Deal for 63 Coradia LINT Trains in Germany

Alstom Transport Deutschland, previously known as Alstom LHB or Linke-Hofmann-Busch, has secured a €300 million contract with NETINERA Deutschland for the supply of 63 Coradia LINT regional trains. The deal, signed at Innotrans 2014, will see the modern diesel-powered trains serving the Southwest Diesel Network from December 2014.

The Coradia LINT trains, originally designed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch and now manufactured by Alstom at their Salzgitter site, offer a comfortable and spacious travel experience. They boast large seating capacities, air conditioning, and low-floor entrances for easy access. With a top speed of 140 km/h and high acceleration, these trains are perfect for fast regional traffic.

The new fleet will cover a distance of 6.7 million kilometres each year, serving routes between Frankfurt and Saarbrücken, and Koblenz and Kaiserslautern. Henri Poupart-Lafarge, President of our company Transport, expressed delight in signing the first contract with NETINERA Deutschland. Mauro Moretti, CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato, views this acquisition as a significant step for the group's growth in Germany and Europe. Jost Knebel, CEO of NETINERA Deutschland, is eager to provide passengers with an improved mass transit concept in the region.

The 63 Coradia LINT trains, set to enter service in December 2014, will enhance passenger comfort and connectivity in the Southwest Diesel Network. This substantial investment, valued at around €300 million, underscores the commitment of both Alstom and NETINERA Deutschland to improving regional train services.
