Amazon Canada restocks Kindle Oasis electronic book reader
The Kindle Oasis 3, the most expensive model in the Kindle range, is now available for purchase on Amazon.ca, with only the 32GB version available.
This high-end e-reader boasts a unique feature: a color temperature system with 25 front LED lights, a combination of 12 white LEDs and 13 amber LEDs. This system allows users to customise the screen light from cool (white) to warm (amber) tones, enhancing the reading experience by reducing eye strain and making reading comfortable in various lighting conditions.
The color temperature system offers several benefits. It allows for customisation of screen warmth, making it easier on the eyes in low light and at night by shifting the display color towards warmer amber tones. It also provides adaptive lighting that changes automatically via two ambient light sensors to maintain optimal brightness and colour temperature depending on environmental light. Furthermore, it improves comfort for long reading sessions, reducing eye fatigue compared to a pure white front light.
The Kindle Oasis 3 is constructed from high-grade aluminium and glass, and retains the two manual page-turn buttons on the right side of the screen. It features a 7-inch E Ink Carta HD capacitive touchscreen display, but contrary to earlier reports, it does not have a Freescale/NXP IMX7 dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM.
The Kindle Oasis 3 is only available as a 4G/LTE with WIFI model, and it does not have a base WIFI version. It should be noted that there is no 8GB model available.
In addition to manual control, the front-lit display and colour system on the Kindle Oasis 3 can be set to adjust automatically based on ambient light sensors or time of day. This versatility ensures a comfortable reading experience in a variety of settings.
