Amazon Launches Fire TV App for Android and iOS
Amazon has launched its Fire TV app for Android (7.0 and above) and iOS (13 / iPadOS 13 and above) devices. This app allows users to control their Fire TV devices, including the newly announced Fire TV Stick models and Fire TV Omni QLED series TVs, which run on Amazon's own Linux-based operating system 'Vega'.
The Fire TV app offers a user-friendly interface, mimicking the Alexa remote with directional icons, a home button, and an Alexa button for voice control. It also includes a search button and a list of all installed apps for easy navigation.
To set up the app, ensure your Fire TV device is plugged in and connected to the internet. Download the app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS), select 'Fire TV' as your streaming device, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your phone. Open the app, choose 'Set Up New Device', and log into your Amazon account. Enter the four-digit PIN displayed on your Fire TV to complete the setup.
The app also offers additional settings. Users can change navigation preferences, add an Alexa remote layout to their phone's lock screen, and enable vibrations for navigation.
The Fire TV app provides a convenient way to control Amazon's Fire TV devices. With its intuitive interface and various customization options, it enhances the overall user experience. The app is now available for both Android and iOS users.
