In the bustling heart of India's IT sector, Bengaluru, the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has been a hub of activity but also a source of frustration due to its poor road infrastructure. A viral video showing schoolchildren navigating pothole-ridden streets intensified the ongoing debate, with BlackBuck's co-founder, Rajesh Yabaji, publicly criticizing the city's road conditions.

Meanwhile, in a bid to address these issues, D K Shivakumar, the Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister, announced a ₹1,100 crore package for road repairs and new constructions. Shivakumar has instructed the traffic police department to provide details about potholes and has urged for their filling within a deadline. He also emphasized the importance of involving the public in the process.

Krishna Kumar Gowda, General Secretary of the Greater Bengaluru IT Companies and Industries Association, believes that warnings from top firms like BlackBuck should push authorities to act swiftly. The announcement comes after mounting criticism regarding the poor road infrastructure in Bengaluru.

Amidst all this, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has invited logistics technology firm BlackBuck to relocate operations to Visakhapatnam, a city on the eastern coast of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh, along the Bay of Bengal. Visakhapatnam is rated among the top 5 cleanest cities in India and is building best-in-class infrastructure, making it an attractive proposition for businesses.

Interestingly, Visakhapatnam has also been rated the safest city for women, further enhancing its appeal. This invitation from Lokesh was made on a social media platform, suggesting a new era of digital diplomacy in attracting businesses.

As Bengaluru grapples with its road woes, Visakhapatnam presents a shining example of a city on the rise, offering a potential solution for businesses seeking a conducive environment for growth.
