Anthropic's 'Imagine with Claude' Lets Users Create Software in Browser
Anthropic's AI startup has introduced an innovative feature called 'Imagine with Claude', exclusively available to paying subscribers of Claude Max. This technology preview allows users to simulate a desktop system, including creating, changing, or deleting files in a terminal window, all within a browser-based environment.
The feature, supported by Anthropic's release of Claude Sonnet 4.5, enables users to customize a virtual desktop environment through AI chat. Users can create software on the spot, rather than relying on pre-programmed applications from the app store. After activation, a browser-based desktop interface opens, complete with icons, windows, and a recycle bin.
Imagine with Claude generates the necessary code for each interaction, initially knowing nothing about the webpage's contents. Users can create applications using text input and expand them with feature requests. Different applications can exchange data within the same context, and users can troubleshoot any bugs by providing new prompts.
Anthropic's 'Imagine with Claude' is an experimental feature running for five days, offering a unique way to create and interact with software. Unlike OpenAI's recent extensions, Anthropic aims to differentiate itself by focusing on software creation. This technology preview is exclusively available to Claude Max subscribers.
