Apple products that have encountered issues can now be serviced at Best Buy stores.

In a quiet yet momentous move, Apple has extended its authorized service network, now including every Best Buy store in the United States. This expansion, which amounts to approximately 1,000 stores nationwide, is set to revolutionize the repair landscape for iPhone and other Apple device users.

As of August 2025, Apple has not publicly announced this development. However, there are significant changes afoot in Apple's repair policies.

Apple is currently trialing in-store iPad repairs in about 30 Apple Stores, primarily in the U.S., allowing for certain iPad fixes directly on-site. This move aims to improve repair transparency and reduce costs for customers.

The company already maintains a vast network of more than 5,000 Apple-certified repair locations. While Best Buy is not explicitly mentioned as a new addition in recent sources, the expansion is undeniably a part of Apple's evolving repair service model.

The focus recently has been on expanding Self Service Repair programs to iPads and improving estimates and repair processes at Apple Stores. However, the inclusion of Best Buy in Apple's authorized service network signifies a step towards giving customers more freedom in choosing repair options.

Repairs done at Best Buy, now fully official, will feature official Apple parts and are fully backed by Apple. Best Buy techs may not be as rigid about the specifics of iPhone repairs compared to Apple Store technicians, potentially offering a more accommodating repair experience.

Customers now have the option to consider Best Buy for iPhone repairs, which could lead to a better deal or a more accommodating repair experience. Members of Best Buy's Total Tech Support service will even save 20 percent on all out-of-warranty iPhone repairs.

This expansion is particularly beneficial to areas such as Yuma, Arizona; Sioux City, Iowa; Twin Falls, Idaho; Casper, Wyoming; and Bismarck, North Dakota, which previously had limited access to Apple-approved repairs.

It is important to note that repairs done at Best Buy will not result in penalties if followed up with a Genius Bar tech. This move can be seen as a softening of Apple's stance on product repairs, addressing the criticism about its strict rules in this area.

The expansion of Apple's authorized service provider network is a significant development in the ongoing right to repair debate. It marks a strengthening of Apple's Apple Authorized Service Provider program rather than a complete freedom for customers in repair choices. However, it is a step in the right direction, offering more repair options to Apple customers across America.
