Apple's newest iPhone models: Which one suits you best, from their aviation version to the professional choice?

The tech giant Apple has unveiled its latest offering, the iPhone 17 series, which is now available for shipping. The lineup includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone Air.

Starting with the iPhone 17 Pro, it boasts a 6.3-inch display and a new aluminium unibody design. The Pro model also features Apple's latest Ceramic Shield 2 technology on the front and back, making it more durable. The device supports wireless charging via MagSafe, which has been increased to 25W for the iPhone 17 Pro.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max, on the other hand, offers a larger 6.9-inch display and provides up to six hours extra of video playback compared to the iPhone 17 Pro. It comes with a 2TB storage option, making it ideal for heavy users.

The basic iPhone 17 also sports a 6.3-inch display. It comes with an always-on display and ProMotion display technology, offering a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Despite being the entry-level model, it still packs a punch with its 48MP rear camera for both the main camera and ultra wide.

Moving on to the iPhone Air, it is the slimmest device in the iPhone line-up, featuring a titanium frame and a 6.5-inch display. The device uses an e-sim instead of a physical sim, making it even sleeker. The iPhone Air's camera system functions like multiple advanced cameras in one, according to Apple.

The rear camera of the iPhone Air is a single 48MP Fusion camera system. Interestingly, the camera system of the iPhone 17 Pro is a 48MP Fusion camera system across the board.

The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro are powered by the A19 chip and A19 Pro chip, respectively. Both chips have a six-core CPU and five-core GPU, with Neural Accelerators capable of running powerful generative AI models on the device. The iPhone 17 Pro's A19 Pro chip also features six GPU cores.

In terms of battery life, the iPhone 17 Pro offers 31 hours of video playback, while the iPhone Air provides a battery life of 27 hours.

It's worth noting that Apple is not the only tech company making waves. Samsung recently shipped its latest smartphone, the Samsung Tri-Fold model, on September 4, 2025.

The front-facing camera of the iPhone 17 is an 18-megapixel camera with Centre Stage for video calls and photos. This feature allows the camera to automatically adjust the framing to keep all participants in the frame during video calls.

The iPhone 17 series represents a significant leap forward in smartphone technology, offering a blend of power, durability, and innovation. Whether you're a heavy user, a casual user, or someone who values slim design, there's an iPhone 17 model that caters to your needs.
