The Kuwait General Traffic Department has announced a significant shift in its services, with the implementation of an electronic booking system for traffic signature approval appointments. This new system, named the "Sahel" application, is a key component of the department's ongoing digitization efforts.

Starting from July 6, 2025, all traffic signature approval appointments will need to be booked electronically through the Sahel app. This move is part of the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector's initiative to digitize services and streamline procedures, aiming to improve efficiency and convenience for citizens and residents in all areas, including Ahmadi and Jahra Governorates.

The Capital Governorate Traffic Department will be responsible for handling certain traffic-related transactions, including first-time issuance, renewal, and replacement of licenses. However, traffic signature renewal services in Ahmadi and Jahra Governorates will still be available at the local traffic licensing departments.

The Sahel app is continuously being developed to enhance service integration, including the private sector's involvement and expansion of digital services. This comprehensive digital management of licensing services is expected to improve efficiency and reduce in-person crowding.

If you haven't already, the Sahel app can be downloaded from the official app stores, and you will need to register or log in to access the appointment booking feature for traffic services. The initiative aims to improve services for citizens and residents in the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector.

The Traffic Department's commitment to digital transformation is part of a broader effort to digitize services within the Traffic Affairs and Operations Sector. This move is expected to bring about a more efficient and convenient traffic service experience for all.
