Asus launches its premium Zenbooks during Milan Design Week
Asus Unveils the New Zenbook Signature Edition Series at Milan Design Week 2025
At the Milan Design Week 2025, Asus has unveiled its latest offering - the Zenbook Signature Edition series. The laptops come in four, bespoke, natural world-inspired colours: Obsidian Black, Pamukkale White, Terra Mocha, and Luminous Blue.
Each colour draws inspiration from a unique and beautiful landscape. Obsidian Black is reminiscent of the cooled lava fields of Geldingadalir in Iceland, symbolising elegance and sophistication. Pamukkale White evokes the tranquil beauty of the cascading terraces and mineral-rich waters in Pamukkale, Turkey, suggesting purity and calmness. Terra Mocha, a warm, earthy brown tone, is inspired by the deserts of the Wadi Rum, offering a stable and reliable aesthetic. Luminous Blue, on the other hand, may transport users to Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives after a hard day's work, conveying energy and innovation.
While Asus has not provided explicit descriptions or meanings for these colours, these interpretations align with typical marketing and design philosophies where laptop colours reflect qualities such as elegance, purity, warmth, or innovation.
The new Zenbooks are designed for post-pandemic working methods, particularly for commuters and hybrid work. They are lightweight yet durable, with a focus on battery life and performance. The R&D team spent a significant amount of effort to ensure that the laptops are sliver-thin, resistant to fracture, and have batteries that last 22 to 26 hours on a single charge.
Asus is also demonstrating a concept called 'Design You Can Feel' at Milan Design Week 2025. The centrepiece of Asus's presence is an installation named 'Willful Wonder', designed by Nassia Inglessis's Studio INI. The installation consists of a long, narrow walkway with silver, semi-transparent, angel-like wings. The material used for Inglessis' triangular panels is Ceraluminum, a proprietary Asus technology.
Ceraluminum, the result of bonding a ceramic material to aluminum, was launched by Asus last year. The focus group for the new Zenbook Signature Edition series of laptops consisted of workers in Japan and South Korea.
If you're interested in more detailed branding narratives that explain the inspiration behind these colour choices, we recommend checking Asus's official product pages or press releases for the Signature Edition ZenBook line. The search results mainly provide reviews or specs for other ZenBook variants with different colour names and do not elaborate on these four colours' inspirations directly.
