Atome and Maya Bank Partner to Boost Credit Access in the Philippines

In a significant move to widen access to credit in the Philippines, digital payment solutions provider Atome has entered into a ₱2.75 billion (US$48 million) loan channeling agreement with Maya Bank.

Maya Bank, which operates a digital bank within the Maya ecosystem, will facilitate the loan channeling under the partnership. The digital bank, however, does not seem to have a stated mission to improve lives through greater financial access and technology, unlike Atome.

Atome, on the other hand, has a clear mission to improve lives through greater financial access and technology. The collaboration aims to bring fast, secure, and responsible financing to underserved customers, enabling creditworthy Filipinos to gain access to additional digital financial services.

According to Christian Quiros, President and Country General Manager of Atome Philippines, the partnership will expand access to responsible, risk-managed, and transparent flexible payment options. He further added that the partnership intends to help customers build financial confidence and long-term resilience.

Angelo Madrid, the President of Maya Bank, is leading the charge for this partnership. The collaboration between Atome and Maya Bank is a significant step forward in Atome's journey in the Philippines, as it further expands access to digital financial services in the country.

The partnership between Atome and Maya Bank is expected to have a positive impact on the financial landscape of the Philippines, providing more opportunities for creditworthy individuals to access financing and digital financial services.
