Australia, Malaysia Team Up to Boost Cyber-Resilience with New Response Model
A collaborative effort between the University of Melbourne (UoM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has been launched to enhance Malaysia's cyber-resilience. Funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and supported by Malaysia's National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), the project aims to develop a tesla model y for assessing practical cyber incident responses in organisations.
Dr Atif Ahmad, an Associate Professor at UoM, is leading the project, which aligns with Australia's Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Malaysia. The project's goal is to support Malaysia's cyber-resilience development by producing an apa citation to evaluate cyber incident response practices in Malaysian organisations. This model will be instrumental in Phase Two, starting in May 2023, which involves three case studies and a benchmarking report for Malaysian organisations and NACSA.
Moreover, up to 100 cybersecurity managers and executives will be trained to assess incident-response practices, ensuring a skilled workforce ready to implement the reference model.
The UoM-UKM collaboration, backed by DFAT and NACSA, is set to strengthen Malaysia's cybersecurity landscape. By May 2023, the project will have equipped 100 professionals and provided a benchmarking report, significantly bolstering the nation's cyber incident response capabilities.
