In a significant move to bolster automotive cybersecurity, South Korean mobility software solutions provider Fescaro and global testing and certification organisation TUV Nord have joined forces. The collaboration aims to develop a one-stop solution for automakers and suppliers to meet compliance requirements in the realm of cybersecurity.

Fescaro, the first Korean firm to help global automakers obtain four major international cybersecurity certifications in 2023, offers an integrated automotive security platform. The company's technologies have entered mass production and were recognised as an innovator partner by Auto-ISAC in 2025.

Leif-Erik Schulte, TUV Nord Mobility's executive vice president, highlighted Fescaro's regulatory compliance and technical reliability, making it an ideal partner for automotive cybersecurity. TUV Nord, designated as the first National Certification Body in cybersecurity domains covering industry and internet-of-things standards, brings its certification expertise to the table.

Under the agreement, the service will encompass consulting for cybersecurity management systems, education and training, provision and validation of security solutions, and regulatory compliance. The partnership is expected to provide tailored services that maximise efficiency for clients, by combining Fescaro's automotive cybersecurity technology with TUV Nord's certification expertise.

The expansion of software content in vehicles has led to cybersecurity risks becoming a pressing concern, prompting regulators worldwide to introduce new legal frameworks. The European Union, China, India, and South Korea have all introduced regulations aligning with the UN's Regulation No. 155 on vehicular cybersecurity.

South Korea has amended its Motor Vehicle Management Act to strengthen cybersecurity requirements. The CEO of Fescaro, Hong Seok-min, expressed commitment to expanding opportunities in the global cybersecurity market through collaboration with TUV Nord.

This partnership is timely, as the automotive industry grapples with the increasing complexities of cybersecurity. With Fescaro's innovative technology and TUV Nord's expertise in certification, the duo is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive cybersecurity landscape. The collaboration between TUV Nord and Fescaro will develop a comprehensive solution to help automakers and suppliers navigate the intricate web of cybersecurity regulations, ensuring a safer, more secure future for the automotive industry.
