Blackmagic Design Slashes URSA Cine Camera Prices by Up to 37% for Film Production
Blackmagic Design has slashed production costs for its large-format cinema cameras, a move expected to boost their adoption across major film productions. The company has reduced prices significantly, with savings passed directly to filmmakers, owners, schools, and rental houses.
The new prices for URSA Cine cameras are now as follows: URSA Cine 12K LF at $9,495, URSA Cine 12K LF with EVF at $10,995, URSA Cine 17K 65 at $22,995, and URSA Cine 17K 65 with EVF at $24,495. Each kit includes the camera body, 8TB Media Module, top handle, baseplate, power supply, battery plate, and a rugged Pelican case.
Blackmagic Design's strategy involves investing in engineering and integrating more of the system to reduce costs. The price cuts range from 22% to 37%, depending on the model. The company announced these reductions, and dealers are expected to implement them in due course.
With substantial price reductions, Blackmagic Design's URSA Cine cameras are now more accessible to a wider range of filmmakers and production houses. The company's focus on engineering and system integration has made these savings possible, likely accelerating the adoption of these cameras in feature films, series, and premium documentaries.
