BMW Unveils 2026 M5: Powerful, Luxurious Sedan and Wagon
BMW has unveiled the 2026 M5, a high-performance sedan and wagon that combines power, luxury, and advanced technology. The new M5 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds for the sedan and 3.5 seconds for the Touring model. It's one of the most advanced and powerful sedans on the market, priced from around €145,000 in Germany.
The 2026 BMW M5 is powered by a hybrid powertrain, featuring a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with mild hybrid capabilities, paired with an electric motor. This setup delivers an impressive 717 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive ensure smooth and responsive performance. The M5 sedan starts at $121,900, with the Touring model at $123,900.
The new M5 also boasts an extensive suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. It offers a faster charging battery that tops out at 11 kW. Fuel economy is rated at 14 mpg combined for the sedan and 13 mpg combined for the Touring, with hybrid driving ranges of 47 mpge and 54 mpge respectively. The M5 Touring offers versatile cargo space, with 18 cubic feet expandable to 58 cubic feet with the seats folded down.
The 2026 BMW M5 marks the second model year of the latest iteration of the M5 nameplate. With its stunning performance, advanced technology, and luxurious interior, it continues BMW's reputation for creating exceptional high-performance vehicles.
