Building Data Centers for the AI Age: HUAWEI Collaborates for Top-notch, Trustworthy Facilities
In the rapidly evolving world of technology, ai (Artificial Intelligence) is taking center stage, and Huawei Digital Power is leading the charge. With ongoing advancements in computing infrastructure, deep reasoning, and multi-model fusion technologies, the application scenarios and value of ai are undergoing a qualitative transformation.
At the Huawei Connect 2025 conference and the Data Center Infrastructure Summit held in Shanghai from September 2025 to September 19, 2025, Huawei Digital Power showcased its commitment to this transformation. The event, attended by over 500 industry leaders, experts, and partners, served as a platform to demonstrate Huawei's green and low-carbon all-scenario digital power solutions and success stories.
Steve Kim, President of Data Center Facility & Critical Power Marketing, Sales, and Services at Huawei Digital Power, highlighted the accelerating role of ai foundation models in driving the intelligent transformation of industries and the growth of global GW-scale clusters. In line with this, Huawei Digital Power released the AIDC Facility Reference Design White Paper, offering systematic guidance for ai DC design and construction.
The White Paper provides in-depth analysis and design suggestions for cooling, power supply and distribution, floor height, and load-bearing capacity in high-density cabinets of ai DCs. It offers multiple reference design solutions for ai DCs based on different power densities, aiming to build a robust foundation for intelligent computing that enables more computing power from each watt.
Huawei Digital Power also emphasized the need for simplified conversion links and innovation in power supply architecture for ai data centers (ai DCs). Thermal management for ai DCs can benefit from a hybrid architecture with an adjustable air-liquid ratio. The organization is intensifying R&D investment in power supply, thermal management, and infrastructure to foster industry-wide collaboration for a greener future.
Authoritative organizations predict that the scale of new ai DCs will reach 112 GW in the next five years. As ai DCs drive infrastructure towards 'computing factories' due to the explosive growth of ai computing power, Huawei Digital Power continues to invest in innovation and integrates digital and power electronics technologies to meet the demands of this transformation.
Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, emphasized the importance of these advancements. 'We are committed to building a sustainable and efficient digital power infrastructure that supports the growth of ai,' he said. 'Our solutions focus on efficient power consumption, electrification, and low-carbon power generation.'
Huawei Digital Power's efforts towards a greener and more efficient ai infrastructure are not just visionary; they are already making a significant impact. The organization's AIDC Facility Reference Design White Paper and green and low-carbon solutions are paving the way for a future where ai DCs are integral to the digital power landscape.
In this future, traditional data center engineering will be transformed into productized and prefabricated ai DC solutions. Huawei Digital Power aims to be at the forefront of this transformation, building a robust and sustainable foundation for the ai-powered world of tomorrow.
