Cameroon's ART Inspects Operators' Network Quality Promises
The Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART) in Cameroon, under the leadership of Prof. Philemon Zoo Zame, is conducting an inspection to ensure high-quality network services. The ART is evaluating the promises made by operators in 2022 to enhance network quality, focusing on transparency and accountability.
The inspection will assess the level of investment implementation, operational changes, unit costs, and expense breakdowns. It will also examine the correlation between financial commitments and observed improvements. The ART is engaging with key stakeholders, including Wanda Matandela, CEO of MTN Cameroon, and Patrick Benon, CEO of Orange Cameroon, to understand the impact of investments on service quality and user experience.
The ART's Director General is leading this comprehensive evaluation of operators' promises to boost network quality. The agency aims to foster a collaborative environment, encouraging a culture of performance and shared responsibility among all parties involved.
The ART's inspection seeks to ensure operators meet international service standards. By evaluating investment implementation and its impact on quality, the ART hopes to promote a constructive dialogue with stakeholders, ultimately leading to improved network services for subscribers.
