Nemetschek SE: Strong Financial Growth and Potential DAX Inclusion

Nemetschek SE, a Munich-based software company, is making waves in the industry with its impressive growth and strategic moves. The company, founded by civil engineer Georg Nemetschek in 1963, has more than doubled its market capitalization to around 15 billion euros in the past two years and is expected to surpass 1 billion euros in revenue for the first time in 2023.

The company's success can be attributed to its innovative subscription model, which accounted for approximately 92% of Nemetschek's first-half revenue of 573 million euros in 2023. This model allows Nemetschek to integrate more features and make more updates for customers, boosting profitability through economies of scale. However, the board prioritizes growth over margin optimization.

Louise Öfverström, responsible for finance, IT, and legal affairs at Nemetschek, anticipates the subscription model to account for around 95% of the revenue but doesn't anticipate it reaching 100%. She considers an average annual growth rate of 15% to be realistic for Nemetschek, and the company aims to surpass 2 billion euros in revenue by 2030.

Nemetschek's software portfolio covers the entire lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects, and it also offers software for film productions, the gaming and advertising industry for creating two- and three-dimensional digital content. This diversification has contributed to the company's continued growth and expanding market position.

Rumours have been circulating about Nemetschek's potential inclusion in Germany's top stock market league, the Dax. While discussions or speculation about potential inclusion have appeared in financial commentary, there is no confirmed news of Nemetschek's admission to the DAX index yet. If included, Nemetschek would benefit from increased visibility and liquidity, attraction of institutional investors and index funds, potential boost to market capitalization and valuation, and easier access to capital markets for growth investments, acquisitions, or R&D spending.

Despite the potential benefits, Öfverström expresses enthusiasm about being part of companies that write the next chapter of a strong, long-standing story. She stated that the company already has good access to investors and can convince with its capital market performance. If included in the Dax, daily business at Nemetschek would remain largely unchanged.

Nemetschek is expected to announce changes to its indices at the beginning of September, which could potentially include a shift towards the Dax. Regardless of the outcome, Nemetschek's strong financial growth prospects and market positioning as a software company in architecture, engineering, and construction make it an attractive contender for future inclusion in the Dax.

  1. Nemetschek SE's strong financial growth, driven by its innovative business model and technology-focused products, has led to speculation about its potential inclusion in Germany's top stock market league, the DAX.
  2. If Nemetschek SE were to be included in the DAX, it would not only benefit from increased visibility and liquidity, but also potential boosts to its market capitalization and valuation, facilitating future growth investments and acquisitions.
