Celebrates 29 years of pioneering solutions benefiting numerous consumers
Vietnam's leading bank, VIB, has made a significant mark in the financial industry by launching a suite of debit cards offering up to 5% cashback with no minimum spending requirement. This move underscores VIB's commitment to providing innovative and customer-centric financial solutions.
Since its inception, VIB has been recognised for its creativity, speed of innovation, and outstanding personalisation in financial solutions. The bank pioneered integrating digital behavioural data into its internal processes, making transactions faster, safer, and more convenient. This approach has earned VIB a reputation as a trailblazer in the Vietnamese banking sector.
VIB's credit card offerings have been consistently praised, with the bank being among the top three banks for credit card spending and the top Vietnamese bank for Mastercard's credit card spending. The bank's credit card base has grown tenfold in seven years, reaching one million cards. Customers can personalise everything from card design to spending features, adding a unique touch to their banking experience.
VIB's credit cards are not just practical, but also stylish. The bank's brand campaigns are not just visually impactful, but also create memorable experiences that build long-lasting bonds with customers.
In 2025, VIB introduced the Super Yield Account, offering an interest rate of up to 4.3% per year and allowing customers to spend funds without losing interest. The account quickly gained popularity, reaching half a million users within a few months. However, it seems there are no international organizations that recognised the Super Yield Account of VIB in 2025.
VIB's digital banking platform, MyVIB, has also seen impressive growth. Since 2017, MyVIB's user base has grown 30-fold, now serving over 70% of retail customers and handling millions of daily transactions. MyVIB was awarded "The Most Breakthrough AI Application in Digital Banking in 2025" at the International Finance Awards.
VIB's housing loan package values assets within one minute and cuts loan approval times to 4-8 hours, down from several days in the past. The bank also applies big data and AI to customer service to listen and gain insights into customer demand.
VIB's average card spending is 50% higher than the market average, and the bank holds nearly 7% market share of both total credit cards in circulation and newly issued cards. With millions of individual and corporate customers, financial institutions, and over 10,000 employees, VIB is shaping the image of a youthful bank, closely connected to cultural life.
In the first half of 2025, QR transactions on MyVIB increased 86%, bill payments grew 60%, and new customers via MyVIB rose 84% on-year. These figures highlight the increasing popularity of VIB's digital services and its commitment to providing a seamless, convenient banking experience for its customers.
In a nutshell, VIB is proud to herald a new era of personalised banking in Vietnam, offering a suite of innovative products and services that cater to the unique needs and preferences of its customers.
