CEO of Take-Two discusses GTA 6 further, claiming delay is due to team's pursuit of 'unyielding perfection.'

Strauss Zelnick, the boss hog of Take-Two Interactive, has been going on about Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) being this flawless piece of gaming perfection for a while now. It started back in 2025 when he started yakking about the game "seeking perfection" during the delays, and he's been at it ever since [1][2][5].

He's been talking about this pursuit of perfection in lofty, executive terms, making it sound like a quest for the absolute distillation of game-ness. Seems like Rockstar Games can't be satisfied until they've upended graphical expectations, or something like that.

In interviews and financial reports from 2025 onwards, Zelnick's been all over it, framing the decision to delay GTA 6's release as a strategic move to give Rockstar time to achieve their creative vision with no compromises. The man's got an obsession with perfection, alright.

Now, it's worth mentioning that Zelnick's been throwing around his philosophical side a lot, but it's not entirely clear if he's been emphasizing perfection in GTA 6 since as early as February 2020 [1]. Most of the evidence we've found points to 2025 as the starting point for this quest for pristine gaming goodness.

Regardless, it seems GTA 6 is shaping up to be something special -- perhaps so beautiful it'll make its way to the Louvre. But Zelnick, ol' chap, might want to swap out that word "perfection" for something slightly less pretentious. It's giving us a concern about the final product, to be honest.
