In a significant move for the cryptocurrency mining industry, Bitzero, a leading crypto mining company, has successfully raised $25 million. This funding round includes backing from renowned investor and TV personality, Kevin O'Leary. However, the company has not publicly disclosed the identities of other investors involved in this round.

The funds will be utilised to expand Bitzero's Bitcoin mining operations with 2,900 Bitmain S21 Pro miners and grow its high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. Bitzero has been focusing on sustainable and zero-carbon operations since 2022.

The deployment of high-efficiency hardware is expected to further lower Bitzero's market-leading breakeven point and accelerate the deployment of best-in-class mining technology. Mohammed Bakhashwain, President and CEO of Bitzero, made a statement about the fresh funding, expressing that it will extend Bitzero's leadership in sustainable, profitable data centers.

Bitzero's commitment to sustainability is evident in its multiple partnerships in Norway for zero-carbon mining operations. The deployment of high-efficiency hardware is scheduled to be completed within four to six months. The estimated additional annual revenue generated by this deployment is $10 million.

Meanwhile, industry peer Hive Digital Technologies is diversifying into HPC. In 2025, Hive Digital Technologies reported $20 million in annual HPC revenue, with expectations to generate up to $100 million by 2026.

Mohammed Bakhashwain also stated that the new funding will accelerate the deployment of best-in-class mining technology, as Bitzero shifts towards high-performance computing (HPC) miners. The company's focus on sustainability and high-performance technology positions it well for continued growth and leadership in the crypto mining industry.
