The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) has alerted citizens about a deceitful website mimicking their official domain, aiming to pilfer personal data, according to TASS reports. The fraudulent site was blocked by the MVD, but the agency cautioned that similar imitations may surface.
As stated by the MVD, the fake site is intended to hoard personal data to support elaborate schemes of fraud. A screenshot of the malicious site was shared on the MVD's official Telegram channel.
The MVD's advice to counter these deceitful actions is for citizens to verify website addresses meticulously before inputting personal information. Citizens are warned to be wary of sites terminating in .xyz or .biz, as the only genuine MVD site is mvd.rf.
