Tesla sales in Europe dropped by 49% in April compared to the same period last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association. This substantial decline comes amid growing discontent among consumers regarding Elon Musk's political role under the Trump administration.
Overall electric car sales increased by 34.1% during the same period, yet Tesla's performance lagged significantly behind this rising trend. The boycott has affected not only European markets but also the United Kingdom, where Tesla sold just 512 vehicles in April – the lowest number in more than two years, as reported by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
The fallout from Tesla's political entanglements has led to protests and vandalism in various countries, with dealerships burned, spray-painted, and vehicles damaged [1][2].
