**Ural Civil Aviation Plant Steps Up Regional Aircraft Production**

The Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) in Sverdlovsk Oblast is making significant strides in the domestic aviation sector, focusing on the production of regional aircraft. Recently, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Siluanov visited the plant to inspect its progress.

Currently, UZGA is assembling the first flight copy of the regional aircraft model TVRS-44, known as the Ladoga. This marks an important step in domestic aviation development, focusing on regional needs. The plant also plans to manufacture another fuselage for static testing this year. A significant first fuselage was delivered from Samara's 'Aviacor' plant to UZGA in early March.

Meanwhile, the Baikal project, known as the LMS-901, is designed to replace aging An-2 aircraft. The complex is preparing to remotorize one of the flight models of the light multipurpose aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal". The first five aircraft are expected to be delivered to Aurora Airlines by the end of 2026, pending certification of the VK-800 engine, which is also being developed.

The production of these aircraft is part of Russia's broader strategy to enhance technological sovereignty in aviation. By developing and manufacturing these aircraft domestically, Russia reduces its reliance on foreign components and technologies. This move towards reducing dependence on foreign technologies is crucial for maintaining sovereignty in the aviation sector.

The development of new solutions for the aviation industry aligns with the tasks of the national project "Transport Production". UZGA aims to increase its production capabilities to meet growing demands for regional aircraft. This includes developing new engines like the VK-800 for the Baikal (LMS-901), which is crucial for domestic supply chain independence.

Tests were conducted on the newest Russian turboprop engine at the motor-testing station at UZGA. A new multifunctional production complex, designed for work on regional aircraft "Baikal", "Ladoga", and the UTS-800 trainer, was also inspected.

The production of regional aircraft such as the Ladoga and Baikal is significant for maintaining connectivity across Russia's vast territory, especially in remote areas where smaller aircraft are more suitable. These aircraft play a strategic role in connecting remote regions, enhancing national security, and ensuring the continuity of essential services in less accessible areas.

Domestic production can create jobs and stimulate local economies, contributing to Russia's economic development and resilience. These aircraft models support Russia's goal of maintaining a self-sufficient aviation sector.

Governor Denis Pasler showcased the production capabilities of UZGA to Minister Siluanov, emphasising the plant's role in Russia's technological sovereignty and economic development. The Ural Civil Aviation Plant's efforts are pivotal for Russia's future in regional aviation needs.

The Ural Civil Aviation Plant's production of the regional aircraft model TVRS-44, known as the Ladoga, coordinates with its strategic focus on domestic aviation development within the aviation industry. The plant's manufacturing of the Baikal project, the LMS-901, emphasizes Russia's push to reduce its reliance on foreign components and technologies in the technology sector, particularly in the finance dimension of business.
