Electric vehicle manufacturer Ola previews two upcoming scooter models ahead of the Sankalp 2025 event scheduled for later this year.
In a groundbreaking move, Ola Electric, India's leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced two new electric scooters set to revolutionise urban mobility. The sportier offering, the Ola S1 Pro Sport, made its debut at the Ola Sankalp 2025 event held at their Gigafactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, on August 16, 2025. The family-oriented commuter model is expected to be unveiled at the same event.
The Ola S1 Pro Sport: A Game Changer in Urban Mobility
The Ola S1 Pro Sport, priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), is a sporty electric scooter that boasts a host of innovative features. It is the first two-wheeler in India to offer an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), providing real-time safety alerts for urban riding. The scooter also features a front dashcam integrated into the design for security and vlogging purposes.
Other key features of the Ola S1 Pro Sport include a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display with smartphone connectivity and GPS-based navigation, brake-by-wire with ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, motor sounds, and adaptive motor boost for an enhanced riding experience. The scooter's design is visually distinct, with street aesthetic fairing, vertical racing stripes, split grab rails, redesigned aprons, new seat cover, swing arm cover, floormat, body decals, carbon fiber front fender and grab handle, aero windshield, and 14-inch wheels.
Powering the Ola S1 Pro Sport is a 5.2 kWh battery pack using 4680 cells, paired with a 16 kW ferrite electric motor that produces 71 Nm torque. The scooter boasts impressive performance specs, with a top speed of 152 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2 seconds, and an IDC range of 320 km.
The Family-Oriented Commuter: A Practical and Comfortable Urban Companion
While details about the family-oriented commuter model are still limited, Ola Electric has teased a second new electric scooter aimed at family use. The design is more muted, with a shorter front beak and a single-piece grab handle at the rear, indicating a practical and comfortable urban commuter. It is expected to share many features with the Ola S1 Pro Sport, including the upcoming MoveOS 6 software and likely ADAS features for safer rides.
The Future of Urban Mobility with Ola Electric
With these new offerings, Ola Electric continues to demonstrate its commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology and safety in urban electric mobility for different rider profiles. The company is also expected to unveil its Diamondhead electric motorcycle at Sankalp 2025.
At the event, Ola will also showcase its latest MoveOS 6 software for electric two-wheelers, which is set to integrate AI features, including an AI chatbot and a Krutrim-powered voice assistant. Last year, at the same event, Ola rolled out the MoveOS 5 software with a range of safety and convenience features.
The Ola Diamondhead, a concept model, was designed to stand out with its dome-shaped front end, LED strip, and sleek lines. However, whether the design can be effectively translated onto a production model remains unclear. The Diamondhead is a part of the company's Moonshot project.
In summary, the Ola S1 Pro Sport and the upcoming family-oriented commuter scooter are set to redefine urban mobility in India, offering a blend of style, safety, and performance for different rider profiles.
The Ola S1 Pro Sport's innovative features and advanced technology, such as the ADAS system and front dashcam, make it a game changer in urban sports. The family-oriented commuter model, with its practical design aimed at family use, will offer a comfortable and safe ride, incorporating technology like the upcoming MoveOS 6 software and possibly ADAS for a safer urban commute.
