Elon Musk announces Grok 3.5 update offering responses independent from online data.

Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur, has confirmed the upcoming Grok 3.5 update for xAI's AI system, Grok. This innovative development is poised to redefine the landscape of technical question answering, offering unique insights into complex topics such as electrochemistry and rocket engines.

Grok 3.5, currently in beta testing, is designed to utilise first principles reasoning, a method that derives answers from fundamental scientific concepts and principles. This approach aims to improve accuracy by building reasoning from basic physics and scientific foundations, setting Grok 3.5 apart from other AI systems.

The new system is expected to rewrite and correct the entire human knowledge base, aiming for unprecedented accuracy and error correction in technical domains. This ambitious project is intended to enhance foundational reasoning and data validation, potentially filling gaps in existing data sets.

Meanwhile, DeepSeek R1, a competing AI model, prioritises transparent and interpretable reasoning, providing clear, interpretable answers. While DeepSeek R1 offers strong transparent logic, it does not claim the same foundational reconstruction ambition as Grok 3.5.

The release date for the beta version of Grok 3.5 has not yet been confirmed. However, SuperGrok subscribers will get an early look at the new system starting next week.

The development of Grok 3.5 requires significant computing power, prompting xAI to explore ways to expand its processing potential. In a related development, Elon Musk is planning to raise tens of billions to build an AI supercomputer comprised of one million GPUs.

However, allegations have surfaced suggesting that xAI's Colossus supercomputer facility is powered by illegal generators. xAI has yet to respond to these allegations.
