Encounters with the Arbiters of Digital Creativity in Art Recognition Prize

The Digital Innovation in Art Award 2023 (DIIA2023) is now accepting applications, offering a unique opportunity for artists, innovators, and tech enthusiasts to showcase their work at the intersection of art and technology. The deadline for submissions is fast approaching on July 15th, 2023.

This prestigious award is presented in partnership with Investor Allstars and offers successful applicants the chance to attend the Investor Allstars gala in London on October 19th, 2023. The DIIA2023 also provides a platform for applicants to have their work reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges, including experts in digital art, AI, philosophy, security, and innovation.

The panel of judges includes Hannah Andrews, the British Council's Director of Digital Innovation in the Arts, who is renowned for fostering creativity and technology integration in the arts sector. Dr. Asia Beiga, a computer scientist and tenure-track faculty member at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy, leads the Responsible Computing group, making her an ideal judge for ethical and innovative uses of technology in art.

Dr. Caterina Moruzzi, a Chancellor's fellow in Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, brings expertise in the philosophy of art, human and artificial creativity, and the philosophy of artificial intelligence. These combined areas of knowledge bridge theoretical and practical aspects of AI-driven creativity, crucial for evaluating web innovation and digital art.

The panel also includes Anton Vidokle, an internationally recognised artist and editor of e-flux journal, with a recent appointment as Chief Curator of the 14th Shanghai Biennale. Valérie Whitacre, with over a decade of experience leading sales at private UK galleries, offers a comprehensive understanding of both traditional and digital art markets. Amir Soleymani, the founder of Mondoir gallery, has rich experience in art curation and advocacy, while Brian Beccafico, known as Arthemort in the WEB3 community, is one of the most prominent crypto art collectors in France and holds the position of NFT Specialist at Sotheby's.

Nik Honeysett, with a proven record in museum technology and administration, serves as the CEO of the Balboa Park Online Collaborative, having previously held the position of Head of Administration for the J. Paul Getty Museum. Paul Nicks, who rose through the ranks at GoDaddy to become the President of Domains, and Dean Phelus, as the Senior Director of Special Projects at the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), also bring valuable experience to the panel.

Victoria Dejaco, the founder of simplify.our website and Galerie Wonnerth Dejaco, provides an intimate understanding of art history and the art business. The DIIA2023 is a global recognition for those shaping the intersection of art and technology, and this diverse panel of judges ensures a comprehensive assessment of works at the convergence of art, technology, and web advancement.
