Establishment of Government Blockchain Academy by the United Nations
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Exponential Science Foundation have joined forces to establish the Government Blockchain Academy, aiming to help governments implement blockchain solutions, possibly in conjunction with AI.
The Academy, announced in early October, is a collaborative blueprint for innovation in public administration, according to Paolo Tasca from the Exponential Science Foundation. By bringing together different partners under one framework, governments will have the necessary tools and talent to navigate the next wave of digital transformation.
The Academy is focused on the safe and comprehensive introduction of blockchain technology to governments, with the aim of finding and implementing solutions in five key areas: digital identities, climate resilience, supply chain integrity, administrative transparency, and digital currency.
Irena Cerovic, responsible for innovation at the UNDP for Europe and Central Asia, aims to strengthen transparency, inclusion, and resilience through the Academy's initiatives.
The Academy is expected to offer various educational resources to public officials, including on-site seminars, online courses, and leadership forums. These resources will be tailored to public officials and local contexts.
