Markus Volmer, an experienced automotive engineer with a proven track record in vehicle development and testing, has been appointed as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Sono Group N.V., effective immediately.
Volmer joins Sono Group with over 18 years of experience in the automotive industry, having worked for prestigious companies such as Daimler, Borgward, and Foton. At Foton, he held the position of Senior Chief Engineer, responsible for complete vehicle development.
In his new role at Sono Group, Volmer will lead the complete vehicle development, including testing and validating the Sion, the world's first affordable solar electric vehicle (SEV). His responsibilities will encompass overseeing technical strategies and implementation processes to ensure the Sion meets stringent quality, safety, and performance standards.
