EVeez Secures $5.4M to Expand Electric Mobility for Gig Workers
EVeez, an electric mobility-as-a-service platform, has secured $5.4 million in a Series A funding round. The company aims to expand its fleet and services, enabling more gig workers to join the workforce.
Currently operating 7,000 vehicles across 15 Indian cities, EVeez plans to reach 30 cities with a fleet of 50,000 by fiscal year 2027. The funding round was led by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, with additional support from unnamed investors.
EVeez provides electric scooters on a subscription basis, offering insurance, repairs, battery swaps, and EV training. This model allows low-income workers to access electric mobility without debt or delays. Over half of EVeez's current users are first-time gig workers who have seen increased take-home incomes due to reduced fuel and maintenance costs. By 2027, EVeez expects to enable over 40,000 new gig workers to join the workforce.
Prachi Windlass, leading the India portfolio at the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, praised EVeez for opening the door to India's booming delivery and gig work market. The funding comes as India's urban delivery landscape rapidly electrifies, with gig workers increasingly turning to electric two-wheelers for their deliveries near me.
EVeez's Series A funding will support its expansion plans, enabling more gig workers to access affordable electric mobility. The company's subscription-based model is proving beneficial for first-time gig workers, who are seeing increased incomes. As India's delivery market continues to electrify, EVeez is well-positioned to grow and create new job opportunities.
