Black Box, a leading provider of networking and connectivity solutions, has expanded its Secure KVM product line with the launch of two new remote controllers. These devices are designed to meet the extreme demands of mission-critical environments such as government, defence, and high-security data centers.
The new Secure KVM remote controllers offer several key features and benefits, including NIAP-certified security, hardware-isolated secure ports, support for modern interfaces, KVM-over-IP capability, multi-user and multi-system access, and more.
The analog Secure KVM remote controller provides straightforward and convenient switching between connected sources, making it a cost-effective alternative for smaller setups. It has a robust construction and user-friendly design, offering a reliable solution for secure environments. On the other hand, the digital Secure KVM remote controller features a customizable touch screen interface and supports switching up to 16 channels with automated port detection. This controller is designed to reduce desktop clutter by moving the primary secure KVM switch off the desk.
The devices are designed to meet stringent National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) standards, ensuring hardware isolation and robust protection suitable for air-gapped or multi-classification environments. This certification is increasingly demanded by government and defence sectors for secure-desktop use.
The controllers provide discrete hardware hops at the source, preventing unauthorized access and ensuring tamper-evident security. They also support advanced connectivity such as DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C with power delivery and multi-stream transport, surpassing legacy analog interfaces like VGA.
Black Box products, including their Emerald suite, enable high-performance KVM-over-IP matrix switching. This allows extension of HD or 4K video, USB, and audio over IP networks for efficient remote access and control.
