Free University Launches Fifth FUturist Funding Call for Sustainability Projects
The Free University has opened the fifth call for its FUturist funding, managed by Sabine Heckmann from the Sustainability and Energy Department. Students and employees are invited to submit innovative project ideas that tackle challenges like reducing waste and energy use, and promoting sustainable digitization. The deadline is November 30, 2025.
Applicants should clearly define a problem and propose a realistic solution achievable within a year and a budget of 5,000 euros. The FUturist funding encourages problem-based, outcome-oriented, and novel ideas that align with the university's sustainability goals.
To increase chances of success, applicants should craft a well-structured proposal with precise formulations and a convincing motivation letter tailored to the university. This involves researching the institution's values, preparing relevant documents like CVs, and providing concrete examples of achievements. The effort required can be significant, depending on the complexity of the requirements and the depth of customization needed.
The FUturist funding aims to support projects that address pressing sustainability challenges. With a clear, well-prepared application, students and employees of the Free University can secure funding to drive innovative solutions and improve the university's sustainability efforts.
