Global introduction of Samsung's One UI 8 update commences - anticipated release timeline in the United States revealed
The tech giant Samsung has launched the stable version of its latest update, One UI 8, in select countries including France, Germany, Georgia, Poland, Sweden, and Turkey. However, the update is yet to be released for North American users.
One UI 8 brings a host of improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience. The Samsung Internet browser has been redesigned, offering a fresher look. The Quick Share feature has been upgraded with an improved UI and easier-to-understand design.
Samsung's focus with One UI 8 is on quality of life improvements rather than flashy new features. The split-screen features have been improved, making multitasking more efficient. The AI select feature makes sorting through phone files a breeze, as it allows users to organise files based on the app used to download them.
The update also introduces security updates to help protect your new device. Samsung DeX receives optimization options for available resolution and the ability to rotate the screen 90, 180, or 270 degrees, providing a more versatile experience.
In addition, One UI 8 offers advanced multimodal AI features for the US market. These features offer personalized, proactive suggestions to support daily routines, enhance privacy protection, adapt the interface for different device formats, and introduce a new Now Bar showing active apps and media on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6’s front display. Other features include resizable popup windows and drag-and-drop functions, initially rolling out on the Galaxy S25 series with broader availability planned throughout the year.
While the initial release of One UI 8 took place in Korea on Monday, users in Europe have reported accessing the update. However, Samsung has not yet revealed an official release time for the U.S. It's important to note that One UI 8 does not offer as many new features as iOS 26 but is still recommended for security updates.
Despite the delay in the U.S. release, One UI 8 promises to deliver a more streamlined and secure user experience. Samsung's commitment to continuous improvement is evident in this latest update, making it an exciting time for Samsung users worldwide.
