Google Warns: Urgent Chrome Update Needed for Serious Security Vulnerability

Google has warned users about a serious security vulnerability in Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine, which is already being exploited by attackers. The type confusion flaw, identified as CVE-2025-10585, allows hackers to execute arbitrary code on a user's computer by tricking them into visiting a malicious website. Google is urging users to update their browsers immediately to protect against this threat.

The vulnerability was discovered by Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) and is rated 'high' risk. It affects the latest versions of Chrome for Windows, Mac, and Linux (140.0.7339.185/.186), as well as Chrome for iOS (141.0.7390.26) and Android (140.0.7339.155).

Google is rolling out updates to address this issue and three other security weaknesses. The latest stable version of Chrome for desktop is 140.0.7339.185/.186, and for mobile, it is 141.0.7390.26 for iOS and 140.0.7339.155 for Android. Users are advised to update their browsers promptly to mitigate the risk of these vulnerabilities being exploited.
