Greenland's Tusass Partners with Eutelsat for LEO Connectivity Boost
Greenland's national telecom provider, Tusass, has signed a significant deal with Eutelsat to bring low Earth orbit (LEO) connectivity to the country. This move aims to strengthen connectivity across Greenland, meeting the needs of its people and institutions.
Tusass, led by CEO Toke Binzer, has partnered with Eutelsat to utilise its OneWeb LEO solution. This multi-year agreement will provide secure communications across Greenland's remote territory, benefiting various sectors such as community broadband, maritime, mobility, and emergency services.
Eutelsat's President of Connectivity Business Unit, Cyril Dujardin, highlighted the growing relevance of LEO for resiliency and redundancy in remote regions. The OneWeb satellites, operating in a polar orbit, ensure high-latitude coverage and low latency, high-speed connectivity in Arctic conditions.
This partnership, which builds on a collaboration initiated in October 2025, will enhance connectivity in Greenland. It aims to deliver secure communications, addressing diverse connectivity needs and supporting the development of the country's remote regions.
