Grounded 2 Expands Its World by Three Times
Grounded 2, the highly anticipated sequel to one of the best survival games of the decade, has launched into early access with a significantly larger map than its predecessor. Multiple sources confirm that the new map is approximately three times larger than the Backyard from the original Grounded game.
The starting area in Grounded 2 is slightly bigger than the original’s starting backyard scale, allowing players to immerse themselves in a more expansive world from the get-go. As development continues, the full map will grow to be about three times larger, offering more variety in biomes and creatures to discover.
This map expansion is evident in the game's storage requirements, which stand at around 40 GB compared to the original game’s 8 GB. One source even suggests that the game world might be up to five times bigger based on PC system requirements, but the widely accepted comparison is about three times larger in map size.
In addition to the larger map, Grounded 2 features online shared worlds for easier playing with friends, similar to Minecraft.
