This guide will walk you through how to access Facebook Marketplace on your iPhone or iPad and start adding your items for sale, or find something you've been needing.
Navigating Facebook Marketplace on iOS
- Open the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the three-bar menu at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Take a gander at Marketplace. It's usually located near the top of the menu; it's got a storefront icon in green and gray. If you don't spot it, give the 'See More' option a tap.
- Location, location, location. In Marketplace, you'll see items for sale near where you're located by default. If you want to change your location, tap your current location and select a new one.
- Get specific. Tap More to choose from various categories: items, vehicles, services, jobs, rentals, Facebook groups, and featured deals of the day.
- Check out listings. Tap on a listing to view more details about the item or service, including photos, description, pricing, location, and seller information.
- Start a conversation. When you're interested in an item, tap Ask for Details to message the seller. If you have a specific question or want to negotiate the price, tap Message to send a personalized inquiry.
- Save it for later. Want to keep tabs on that cool item or remember it for a future purchase? Tap Save beneath the item's photo to save it to your Saved items.
Listing Items for Sale
- Open Facebook and tap the three-bar menu.
- Navigate to Marketplace.Look for the storefront icon near the top of the menu.
- Sell, sell, sell. Tap Sell at the top of the screen.
- Create a new listing. Select Create Listing from the options.
- Choose a listing type. Opt for One item, Multiple items, Vehicle, or Home for sale/rent.
- Upload photos. Add photos of your item or vehicle with the Add Photos button.
- Enter details. Fill out the form with a title, price, categories, and necessary info, ensuring that the location is correct.
- Hit the big button. Tap Publish to make your item visible in people's search results for items near you.
Selling on Facebook Marketplace is like getting into a real-life deal. You can arrange payment and transfer when expedient. To monitor potential buyers, open the Marketplace, tap You, then tap Selling and open a message.
Editing a Listing
- Launch Facebook, then select Marketplace from the menu.
- Access Your Listings. Tap Sell at the top of the page, then Your listings from the menu.
- Edit the listing. Tap the three dots on a listing, then select Edit listing to modify your item's details.
Marking an Item as Sold
- Launch Facebook Marketplace and tap Sell.
- Access Your Sold Listings. Identify the sold item from your listings.
- Mark it as sold. Tap the three dots on the listing, then select Mark as sold. Now, you should no longer receive inquiries for the item.
Troubleshooting
- Facebook isn't showing you what you came for. If Facebook Marketplace displays a blank page, try closing and reopening the app or updating the app from the App Store.
- I can't find Marketplace somewhere. If Marketplace doesn't show up in the options, make sure you're using your primary Facebook account, check that listings adhere to Facebook’s policies and community standards, list items that are approved by Facebook, and consider filing a marketplace item appeal.
