Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, a renowned rock-themed establishment, sets foot in Canada for the very first time, courtesy of SOUND.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Canada's first of its kind, boasts an impressive 1 SOUND audio system that offers a unique blend of advanced speaker technology and aesthetic integration. The system ensures high-quality, consistent sound both indoors and outdoors, catering to the venue's diverse events and preserving its upscale atmosphere.
Exterior Setup
Twenty-five 1 SOUND Cannon C6 marine speakers have been installed on the building's exterior. These speakers are colour-matched to the venue's facade and feature custom-painted C-Clamps, outdoor-rated hardware, and SS316 marine-grade materials. Sealed cable glands further enhance their weatherproof capabilities, delivering full-range, high-energy sound that greets guests before they even enter the casino.
Indoor Setup
Inside the venue, the Council Oak Stage is equipped with 1 SOUND's Level L38 loudspeakers and SUB310 subwoofers. The L38s are discreet, powerful, and compact, standing less than eight inches off the wall to provide high sound pressure levels (SPL) suitable for live bands and duelling pianos. The SUB310 subs are hidden in the ceiling to maintain aesthetics without compromising bass performance.
System Integration
The installation was a collaborative effort between Clair Global, Branch AV, and NV5, who served as the audio consultant. Their combined expertise ensured the system met Hard Rock's global standards for sonic clarity without overwhelming the space.
Jason Wakeford, project manager at integrators Branch AV, praised the L38s, stating they performed beautifully, blending seamlessly into the space while delivering great sound with room for higher SPL with bands.
