Harmonic Design Showcases HybridLineSource Technology in Exhibition Space
Harmonic Design, a leading pro audio company based in Neckarwestheim, has unveiled its groundbreaking HybridLineSource technology, revolutionizing the way sound is reinforced in live and installed settings.
The Power of HybridLineSource
At the heart of this technology are the hd HLS20 and hd HLS24 speakers, both featuring a hybrid line source design that promises consistent, high-quality sound dispersion and superior clarity. Key attributes of these speakers include:
- Power Options: They operate on two generic 18V batteries with hot-swap capability for continuous, portable use, as well as standard mains power operation, providing flexibility in powering the speakers.
- Advanced DSP: Equipped with 32-bit FIR DSP (Finite Impulse Response Digital Signal Processing) and multiple inputs (8 inputs mentioned), which allow for precise sound shaping and adaptability to various acoustic environments.
- Portability and Compactness: The speakers have modest dimensions (275 x 530 x 360 mm) and weight (~10 kg, 11 kg including batteries), balancing power and portability.
- Wireless Audio Interface: Supports wireless audio input, enhancing ease of setup and reducing cable clutter.
- Effects Processing: Offers adjustable effects such as reverb and chorus across multiple channels (up to 6), adding creative flexibility for live sound scenarios.
The hd HLS20 and hd HLS24 model numbers likely differentiate specific versions within this HybridLineSource series, with variations in size or configuration to suit different venue scales.
The hd 12CXN and hd AudioScreenSys
In addition to the HybridLineSource technology, Harmonic Design has also introduced the hd 12CXN, a high-performance monitor with a coaxial 12''/1.4'' driver array, designed for professional applications. The hd 12CXN boasts a conical dispersion of 80° without a separate horn and a large bass reflex port for considerable low frequency reproduction.
The hd AudioScreenSys is an active column loudspeaker containing the entire amplifier electronics of the left/right overall system. It can be mounted flush to the wall with the optionally available L-angle wall bracket for direct wall mounting, making it the optimal sound reinforcement solution in the course of digitalization of the working world.
Live Demonstration and Applications
During a live set by Depeche Mode drummer Christian Eigner, visitors could experience the power of this new generation of high-performance PA. These systems are intended for small to medium sound reinforcement requirements, and their compact size, low-profile enclosure, and lightweight construction (the hd 12CXN weighs only 18 kg) make them ideal for mobile applications.
The HybridLineSource technology creates arrayable PointSource loudspeakers, enabling even sound reproduction over long distances, and the hd AudioScreenSys's 4+2In/4Out high-end hd ProDSP platform ensures maximum operational reliability, unique headroom, and the best possible audio quality.
