Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a recall for the CB300R motorcycles manufactured between 2018 and 2020. The recall is due to an issue with the headlight of the CB300R, which may flicker or shut off. The problem originates from the internal printed circuit board (PCB) structure in the headlight, causing wires to suffer a fatigue break at the terminal. If you own a CB300R from the specified time period, it's recommended to get the faulty unit replaced, even if you haven't been contacted personally by the dealership. The recall affects units of the CB300R only and does not involve any other models manufactured by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. The exact number of affected CB300R motorcycles in India has been confirmed by Honda, with the response expected by August 25, 2023. HMSI will replace the affected parts of the CB300R at Honda's BigWing dealerships across India. The replacement is offered free of charge and is applicable regardless of the warranty status of the CB300R. It's important to note that the CB300R was last updated in October 2023 to make it OBD-II compliant. However, this recall is unrelated to the recent update. No changes have been made to the CB300R since its last update. In September 2024, HMSI had already conducted a recall for the CB300R due to a faulty wheel speed sensor. However, this recall is separate from the current one. The recall is for models manufactured between 2018 and 2020 only. Honda urges all CB300R owners from this time period to get their motorcycles checked and replaced if necessary. As always, safety is Honda's top priority.
