Huawei Unveils AI Powerhouse Atlas 950 SuperCluster
Huawei has revealed its latest AI powerhouse, the Atlas 950 SuperCluster, at Huawei Connect 2025. This new system boasts impressive performance, capable of handling AI training and inference tasks with ease. The Atlas 950 SuperCluster delivers up to 524 FP8 ExaFLOPS for AI training and an astonishing 1 FP4 ZettaFLOPS for AI inference. This power is packed into a setup comprising 160 cabinets spread across 1,000 square meters. At its core are 64 Atlas 950 SuperPoDs, each running hundreds of thousands of Ascend 950DT neural processing units (NPUs). Looking ahead, Huawei has announced the Atlas 960 SuperCluster, slated for the fourth quarter of 2027. This system will feature more than 1 million Ascend 960 NPUs, offering 2 FP8 ZettaFLOPS and 4 MXFP4 ZettaFLOPS of performance. Huawei positions its Atlas 950 SuperCluster to support training and inference workloads for AI models with hundreds of billions to tens of trillions of parameters. Huawei's latest AI supercomputers, the Atlas 950 and 960 SuperClusters, promise unparalleled performance. They aim to compete with Nvidia's Rubin-based systems and are set to revolutionize AI processing capabilities. With these systems, Huawei continues to push the boundaries of AI computing.
